Rhodes Family Farm

Better late than never....

Here's pictures of a pumpkin farm that I just love.  It's in Worden, Illinois and it's a FARM!  it costs 5 bucks to get in and they have tricycles, a maze, little barrel train the kids can ride, HUGE tire swings,  and goats and the Three Little Pigs that you can feed.  They really are the Three Little Pigs 'cause I saw their houses and they're made just like in the books.  And they had little, little baby goats this year.

Yeah, you drive out to the pumkin patch through the woods and such, BUT the big excitement of the day is the Pumpkin and Gourd Cannons.  This is a lot of fun to watch the dads with their sons.

Dad:  you want to shoot the cannon?
Son:  Yay!  I get to shoot the cannon!

Then just when the son steps up to aim the cannon the dad immediately leans over to "help" their sons aim the cannon properly.

Anyway, this is a great place and I love it because it's all open space, not a lot of peeps, and you can let your kids run and run!

Dino Dig Birthday Party Favors

The boys were invited to Joseph's buddy's birthday party.  It was Declan's 5th birthday and he and Joseph have been friends since Declan's mom used to babysit Joseph for a couple of years.  Joseph adores Declan's mom, Shannon, and is always thrilled to go to their house.  PLUS Shannon throws AWESOME birthday parties.

This year Declan's party was a Dino Dig and the kids got to "dig" for dinosaur bones and Shannon provided them with their own paleontologist hats and tools.  Well, the party didn't stop when we got home!

Summer Time

It's getting cold here so it's nice to see the summertime fun pics!  Plus, I'm behind on posting so here's some older pics.

Poo-Poo Update

Nicholas pooped on the potty again this morning.  Boy, that makes my day.  I DO NOT LIKE CHANGING POOPY DIAPERS!  IT'S REALLY GAGGING ME!

So I stalked him for about 40 minutes.  on the potty, off the potty, on the potty, off the potty.  THEN I saw him pause in the kitchen and BAM, I scooped him up and put him on the potty and BINGO!

Seriously, I do not remember changing Joseph's poopy diapers and it bothering me so much.   Maybe it's because I'm getting older that it's really getting to me!

Once he's recovered from his surgery, we're potty-training!

That's all for my poo-poo update.

New Friends, Ms. E and Ms. S

Nicholas has made some new friends in the last month.  We met Ms. E at the park in Troy and we drove to Decatur to meet Ms. S.  Both are adorable little girls that are Nicholas' age.   It's been surprising that he's been a little shy around the girls since he's usually so outgoing, but I think it was because Big Bro Joseph wasn't with him to be his wingman.
