testing my ipad skills

So James is trying to teach me how to use the iPad so I can successfully use it in China. Because I'll be doing the blogging/uploading on the iPad and James will be playing the games on the iPad. Of course, it's for the good of the child; right? also, since we purchased the iPad I've told some friends about the books i plan on taking with me to read on the plane to China. Their natural response is: Why not just upload them on your iPad? My response: Are you kidding me? I'll be fighting James for the iPad!

So with that being said, let me see if I can post a photograph.... hmmm..

okay. I've posted a pic of Baby Kitty. I have to admit I have no idea how I did it. Multiple tries. definitely will need to practice. okay my precious kitty is scratching me now to tell me he wants to go outside while it's not raining. oh, now he's really showing me.... he's wrestling with my shoe! gotta attempt to post now.

In the meantime...

Joseph and I have been staying busy: 

We went to Leanne's (Jean's) Sweet Sixteen Birthday Party!

We went to the park for some quality play time with an old buddy and some new buddies!

We went to a farm where we fed goats and chickens and looked for bugs and most of all played on the corn table that had john deere tractors.  oh, so rare in Joseph's life --- NOT!

And, lastly, just re-thinking and re-checking what to pack for Nicholas!

Travel Approval! 4/23/12

So we received the great news yesterday that we've received travel approval and will probably be leaving around May 9th.  Maybe the week after, but I hope not.    We're waiting to hear about consulate appointments in the next day or two and then will be able to make definite travel plans. 

First Baby

This is Haley.  She's actually my first "baby."  She's going to be 7 in May.  I never get a good picture of her so I thought I'd just post this!  She's usually barking at the camera rather than looking pretty. 

Joseph was asking questions about our family, you know, who my mom is, whose daddy's mom is... you know, the typical.... Grandma is your mom?????   Then he said, "I have a family.  You, Daddy, Jack, Haley and Kitty."  Jack and Haley are our dogs and, of course, Kitty....

Nicholas Needs to Get Home Soon!

Joseph definitely needs his baby brother to get home soon.  Here's some pics of his "buddies" who he put on the couch to watch television with.   Also, today Joseph told me that he will give Nicholas piggyback rides and Nicholas can ride on his shoulders because he's the Big Brother! 

Just Patiently Waiting

So here it is.... the wait for our travel approval.   hoping it will come next week and we travel by the second week of May.  Going to organize all the odds and ends for travel this weekend.  hopefully i'm going to be traveling with some experienced adoptive families who have previously traveled to China!  Lisa R. and Lisa DV have been a lot of fun to get to know through e-mails and phone calls and they're much more organized than me.  I know, I know... for those of you who know me you're probably thinking that that isn't saying much!  True... but they're really really super duper organized!   
They're organized like my friend Katie who I traveled to Korea with to meet our babies!   Wait a minute... am I the only disorganized traveling mom?

So, in the meantime, my house did get painted and i got rock put in under the lower deck so hopefully no more muddy mess!  now just waiting on the blinds!

This is a test. I'm practicing with our iPad to see how user friendly it will be when we travel. I've started to needd my reading glasses more and more so james will definitely have to teach me how to make this screen much, much bigger! now for the next test. let's see if i can post a picture. who knows what it will be but i know we loaded some on the iPad. here it goes.
